'Guardian' Painting in Interior Designer Jo Smeeth's Home

Sometimes a painting just doesn’t quite work so I have to put in into hibernation for awhile, sometimes years at a time. This work was just one of those paintings. I started this in 2010 using Milton’s Paradise Lost as inspiration. I loved the foundation but it just wasn’t working in the direction I had hoped. I moved a few times during that period as did the painting, with me re-working it from time to time. I finally got it to ‘work’ as we were in the midst of COVID and I was absolutely in love. AND thankfully so was interior designer Jo Smeeth of INDA Interiors who bought it for her home. She has since bought a few other works on behalf of her clients and if you follow her on the Instagram @indainteriors you’ll see why she and her team are kept rather busy!
